A freediving week in the breathtakingly beautiful national park Kornati in Croatia.

An ideal freediving holiday.

You wake up with the sun, go freediving in the morning, have a nutritious breakfast on the sun terrace, go snorkeling, kayaking, or SUP-ing in the afternoon. Or go hike a hill behind the house and enjoy the view of Kornati Archipelago. Or take a sailing lesson. Have a small snack, rest, join the breathing exercises, or work on your equalization skills. Do another freedive session in the afternoon. Have a delicious dinner with your old and new friends. Rest. Repeat.
6 days in the stunning Kornati National Park in Croatia. It’s a freediving holiday you have been dreaming about.

All you need to know.

  • You’ll be diving with Tjasa Ucakar, the founder of Thalassa Freediving and Apnea Academy Instructor. The whole freediving experience is based on Apnea Academy didactics, which emphasises enjoyment and relaxation underwater. Me and my team of instructors (there will be at least three instructors) will be with you on every dive, we’ll be diving in small groups and everyone will be addressed personally, depending on your experience and freediving goals.

  • For everyone who enjoys the sea and time spent outdoors in good company. Regarding all activities, you don’t need any previous knowledge, since we have instructors to guide you from your first steps. We are happy to welcome beginner and advanced freedivers, since the diving ropes will be adjusted to everyone’s needs.

The only restriction is for people who want a luxurious retreat. Kornati is a national park. We do have electricity from solar panels, but water is from buckets and there is no hot shower. You need to appreciate Kornati’s wilderness and love nature.

We will be spending the whole week together, we’ll dive together, prepare meals together, eat together, clean together. We’ll be like a family, so bring good communiy vibes.

  • You have to come to Zadar and from the port in Zadar take a speed boat to Zaglav on Dugi otok (1,5 hours). We’ll wait for you there. The journey continues by car to the south of Dugi Otok (20 min), then by a small boat (20 min) to the island of Kornat where will be our base. You are also welcome to come by your own sailboat or other sea transportation, if you prefer.

We’ll arrange transportation with each individual, to make it as easy as possible.

  • Our base will be a private house on the Kornat island. There are 4 double rooms for 8 people and two common kitchens. The toilet and shower is outside, we don’t have running water there, just buckets, like in the good old days. Again, this is a remote national park, so the luxury of everyday civilisation is replaced by wild rough beauty of nature.

There might be a possibility to also sleep on a sailboat, docked by the house.

For food, we’ll be preparing food together. We’ll mostly start the day with freediving, and after the first session, we’ll make a big tasty breakfast/brunch. After the second dive we’ll make dinner, super tasty and well deserved. We’ll have plenty of snacks for some in-between hungers, so don’t worry, you won’t be hungry.

Bottom line, the name of the game is good community vibes.

  • It is advisable to bring your own freediving equipment, if you have it. If not, we can provide you with wetsuits, fins, weights, or anything else you might need. In terms of clothes, you don’t need fancy dinner outfits, rather bring comfortable clothes to hang out on the terrace or go hike a nearby hill.

  • The price for a 7-days/6-nights retreat is 940 eur. It includes transportation from Dugi otok to Kornat and back, accommodation in shared bedrooms (house or sailboat), two meals per day, snacks during the day, drinks, certified freediving instructors to take care of you in the underwater activities, freediving insurance, a certification card at the end of the course, and some other cute stuff.

The price doesn’t include transport to Zadar and speed boat to Dugi otok, and rent of equipment for other activities except freediving.
